Job Description
The Deli/Bakery Associate is responsible for independently preparing, frying, packaging, displaying, and stocking deli and bakery products. This role ensures compliance with company guidelines for guest experience, safety, and food safety, contributing to the financial best interest of the store.

Responsibilities:
Prepare and produce bakery/deli products according to the production planner.
Package and label bakery/deli products per program plan.
Merchandise bakery/deli products according to flight plan/merchandising expectations.
Stock backroom with bakery/deli products, rotating and dating cases/buckets.
Collaborate with other departments and stores to achieve growth in SpartanNash retail stores.
Notify the Bakery/Deli Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
Perform basic mathematical functions.
Communicate tasks, recipes, weights, measures, and cleaning steps completed to other associates.
Follow all PPE and safety guidelines.
Adhere to all food safety and cleaning expectations.
Follow guest experience guidelines.
May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs.
Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- School diploma or GED preferred.
- One year of retail or related experience is preferred.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
